The Best & Worst of Day 6 and the Hopes for Day 7 at the Olympics


Nigeria received a big lash from Team USA as they had a terrible loss of 73:156 in the Men’s Basketball Tournament yesterday.
Africa still won another gold medal in the Men’s Lightweight Four in the Rowing Tournament courtesy the South African team.

In Swimming, South African, Roland Schoeman, will take part in the final of the Men’s 50m Freestyle, later this evening.

Still in the same tournament, South Africa’s Chad Le Clos will aim for another medal in the final of the Men’s 100m Butterfly.

The final of the Women’s 200m Backstroke has seven-time Olympic medal champion Kirsty Coventry from Zimbabwe.

Africa's hopes to raise her medal count should increase, as the Athletics Tournament begins today with qualification rounds in most of the events, though the final of the Women’s 10,000m will take place this night, and the lineup will include Tirunesh Dibaba, Werknesh Kidane, and Beleynesh Oljira of Ethiopia; Vivian Jepkemoi Cheruiyot, Sally Jepkosgei Kipyego and Joyce Chepkirui of Kenya.
